What does Shopfront.com do?

We help people start and grow exciting new businesses.

Shopfront.com is a "business building community" in which people create "shopfronts" - online business profiles that are used to tell the story behind a business and sell products, services and events. You can start as many shopfronts as you want from one account.
Shopfronts are easy to setup, maintain and improve. We are working hard to create a simple step-by-step way of creating a business that leaves nothing out, eliminating the confusion that usually comes with starting a business.
Shopfront is intended for new and growing businesses. This means that shopfronts can be started by businesses (or organizations, bands etc) that do not yet exist, have not existed for long, or are small by nature. Shopfront is for building businesses- it is not "another place to advertise” an established business. If you own an established business, click here to find out how to get the most out of Shopfront.
On Shopfront you can connect with other users; find your friends, comment on their shopfronts, discuss business, ask questions and be mentored. Do joint ventures and start building a great business network! Collaborate and discuss relevant topics in the Shopfront Forums.
We provide tools and information for the management and promotion of a business, including a new business guide called Slingshot that has been designed to help you form a great business idea (big or tiny) and turn it into a butt-kicking business that is always being improved. We believe that EVERYONE has the potential to start a great business, be it large or tiny. Of course- not everyone will, but if you are keen to give it a crack Shopfront is here to help. Whether you've got a bit of money and time to invest into your new business or you just want to start small, there is one thing you can be sure of - many of history’s greatest businesses started off VERY small. We encourage shopfronts to break the rules, surprise people, impress people with their service and be a bit crazy in general. Stand out and your business is far more likely to be outstanding. Our never-ending task is to provide new and growing businesses with everything they need. We have built about 10% of the features that we have plans for and we are always coming up with new ideas. Shopfront.com is not about hawking stuff to friends or SPAM of any kind. At Shopfront we are against the idea of harassing friends for a sale, online and off. Do you like it when your friends try to sell you stuff that you don't want? Nothing sours a conversation faster! We encourage shopfront owners to let their friends know about their business once, then spend their energy on building a remarkable business that will spread by itself, not sending interruptions like SPAM.
